「Project Motor Racing」が示す耐久レース50年のリアリズムと，「Farming Simulator 25」の“水産養殖”DLC。GIANTS Softwareプレゼンレポート［gamescom］

　GIANTS Softwareが2025年11月25日に発売する「Project Motor Racing」（PC / PS5 / Xbox Series X|S）は，モータースポーツのリアリズムを追求したレースシミュレーションゲームだ。


　「Project CARS」シリーズや「GTR - FIA GT Racing Game」などのレースゲームを手掛けてきたStraight4 Studiosの新作で，セガが日本国内およびアジア市場向けの製造および販売を担当する。
　gamescom 2025のGIANTS Softwareブースでは，「Project Motor Racing」とGIANTS Softwareの看板シリーズ「Farming Simulator 25」（PC / PS5 / Xbox Series X|S / MAC）の2タイトルをメインに，ゲームの試遊やステージイベント，実際の車両の展示を行っている。

　日本のゲーマーにはそこまでなじみのないメーカーかもしれないが，スイスをメインにドイツなど複数の拠点を構えるGIANTS Softwareは，欧州ではその名の通りジャイアンツ（ト）なパブリッシャ。gamescomでは広大なブースに重機をドンッと展示するというのが名物だ。


　そんな同社のgamescom 2025の看板タイトルである「Project Motor Racing」と「Farming Simulator 25」のプレゼンテーションに参加し，完全新作レースゲームと看板シリーズの最新DLCについて聞いてきた。

レースはもちろん歴史も“リアル”に再現。「Project Motor Racing」

　「Project Motor Racing」は，「耐久レースの過去50年にわたる歴史の再現」をテーマにしており，マシンはもちろん，GTEやプロトタイプなど実在したクラスも収録する。消滅したカテゴリ（2000年代初頭のNGTクラスのように，現在は開催されていないレース規格）についても可能な限りライセンスを取得したという。


　ローンチ時には18のロケーションと28のトラックを収録予定で，いずれも実際にレースが行われたサーキットのスケールが再現されている。また新技術「Trick 2 Track」により，天候や大気条件，昼夜サイクルもリアルに取り入れ，雨天時には路面の勾配に沿って水が流れ，走行ラインだけが乾くなど，現実に近い挙動が表現される。


　物理演算には新開発のエンジン「HADRON」を採用。3年をかけて構築され，120名以上のプロドライバーがテストに参加している。メーカー提供の車両データをベースにさらに条件によって異なる実際の走行フィードバックが反映されており，ブレーキング時や加速時の細かな挙動も調整された。


　例えば，トラクションコントロールが搭載されていないクラシックカーはホイールスピンを起こしやすく，ABSを持たないモデルはブレーキを強く踏むと簡単にタイヤがロックする。さらにタイヤの温度や摩耗も挙動に影響し，温度が上がりすぎるとグリップを失い，操縦が難しくなるといった仕様だ。


　キャリアモードでは，プレイヤーがチームを運営し，スポンサーを集め，予算を管理しながらシーズンを戦う。
　勝利ではなくシーズンを走り抜くことに目的が置かれており，開発チームはこれを「サバイバル・キャリアモード」と呼んでいる。無理に攻めてマシンを壊せばシーズン終了となるため，現実のドライバーと同じように，順位を狙うか，安全に完走を優先するかの判断が必要になるわけだ。


　また本作はユーザーによるMod制作にも対応しており，公式のUCG（ユーザー生成コンテンツ）ポータルを通じてコンテンツの共有が可能だ。「ファーミングシミュレーター」で採用されている「Mod Hub」と同じ仕組みで，ローンチ初日のDay 1パッチで実装される。
　オンラインモードも準備中で，その詳細については9月の東京ゲームショウ2025で詳細が明かされる予定だ。

「Farming Simulator 25」のDLC「Highlands Fishing」で水産養殖と釣りを楽しもう

　「Project Motor Racing」と同じく日本ではセガから発売されている，農業シムシリーズの最新作「Farming Simulator 25」。2024年11月に発売された本作には，日本のゲームファンのいい入り口となりそうな東アジアをイメージした土地が実装されている。


　11月のリリース予定で制作されている新DLC「Highlands Fishing」（ハイランズ・フィッシング）は，その名の通りハイランド，つまりスコットランド高地をイメージした新マップとなる。


　多数の新しい作物や家畜，農業機械やブランドを追加収録し，さらに新要素として水産養殖が導入される。
　石造りの城や港など，スコットランドらしい風景が再現され，道路は左側通行となって二階建てバスが走る。伝統的な作物および動物種として，タマネギとハイランド牛が追加されるほか，20種以上の新車両と農機が登場する。


　ゲームプレイではこれまでの農業，林業，畜産に加えて漁業が可能になる。養殖場で稚魚を育て，一定の大きさになると船で海上の大型ネットに移し，さらに成長した魚を収穫・出荷する流れが用意されている。
　船の操作は農業機械とは異なる操作感で，水の抵抗を感じさせるような重さや反応の遅さがあるという。また，釣り竿を使ったミニゲーム形式のフィッシングも実装され，サケ/マス釣りを楽しめる。


　新しい農作物や家畜が加わり，資源を運んで施設をアップグレードし，新しい生産物を生み出す要素も導入される。畑では雑草や病害虫といったシミュレーション要素も再現されるが，ライトにもコアにも楽しめるよう，不要ならオフにできる仕様となっている。


　「Farming Simulator 25」は長期的な収録ブランドの拡大を目指しており，新しいトラクターや車両も順次追加を予定しているという。
　収録される機械や作物のデータはメーカーや実際の農業知識をもとに構築されているが，それだけでは不十分だという。開発チームは実際の農家や林業従事者からも協力を得て，収穫作業の流れや機械の操作感を確認しながら調整を進めている。
　こうしたフィードバックを反映することで，リアル志向とカジュアル志向の双方が楽しめる“プレイヤー自身が体験しているような農作業”がより現実に近づけられている。
