今週も月曜日がやってきた。我々ゲーマーにとって，期待の新作が発売される週ほどワクワクするものはないわけだが，今週は何が発売されるかを抜かりなくキチンと把握している人は，どれくらいいるのだろうか。週刊連載「今週のモチベ」では，「え？あれって今週発売だったの!?」となりがちな人のために，今週発売される期待のタイトルをおさらいしていこう。

　無数の銃を求めて敵を倒し続けるハックアンドスラッシュの要素と，スピーディーなFPSアクションを融合させた「ボーダーランズ」シリーズの最新作。ストーリーでは惑星「カイロス」を舞台に，新たに登場する4人のヴォルト・ハンターが，「タイムキーパー」を名乗る謎めいた独裁者に立ち向かう姿が描かれる。


　新システム「認可パーツ」により，複数のメーカーの特性を併せ持つ銃がランダムで生成されるようになり，その数は数十億にも上る。セットボーナスの仕組みを導入する「ファームウェア」や，より自由度が高くなったスキルシステムにより，ビルド構築はさらなる広がりを見せており，発売日初日から完全なクロスプレイを実現しているのもポイントの1つだ。なお，Nintendo Switch 2版は10月3日に発売される予定となっている。
